Spring is here
Spring is my favorite time of the year. It feels like a time of new beginnings and obviously new life with all the trees and flowers starting to bloom. Goals seem absolutely attainable no matter what the barriers may be.
It has also been very good news to find that the Real Estate Sector has been considered an essential service by the Provincial Health Office.
We are currently unable to hold open houses, but properties are still available to view by appointment only. The Real Estate Board has also set out new protocols that ensure everyone’s safety.
With all the hysteria and negative news promoted by the media, I thought I would share the positive stats recently reported. Out of the 1,410 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province, 879 have recovered as of April 10th (which is a rate of 62%). These positive stats are rarely mentioned.
I have inserted a bit of levity here and also at the end of this newsletter.
This was sent to me by my sister, and I'm passing it on for your enjoyment. I have found that I have been in touch with my family and friends more during these crazy few weeks, so as to ensure all are doing okay. I found it quite funny and loved the tune. Makes you want to get up and dance.
One prevailing viewpoint that has been commented on by the Real Estate sector as well as many economists is that although we are expecting and have already experienced a slowdown in the Market, it is expected that a rapid recovery will occur. I know a mortgage broker whom a number of my clients have utilized with success. His name is Kyle Green, and his stated goal is to help you navigate financially and thrive during these unprecedented times. He recently answered these questions below.
Question: With everything that is going on right now, is now a good time to buy?
Answer: Anytime is the right time to buy, for the right price. Right now, there are deals to be had. If you find the right motivated seller who does not have the luxury of time to wait until COVID-19 has passed, then you may find yourself in a position to be able to negotiate heavily on the price.
Question: Should I wait until the COVID-19 situation is over or should I start the process now?
Answer: We highly recommended that you get pre-approved now, especially since there may be some potential rate increases coming down the pipeline soon. Also, if you are patient, there will be some really good deals to be had in the next few months. That being said, there is no need to rush into it. Take your time.
If you have any questions, I am here to help you with any of your Real Estate needs. Please call, email or text me. I am also setting up Zoom as another option to meet with you. Your referrals are always appreciated.
I will end off with a humorous clip relating to the hoarding that has been happening. Even in this fast-changing economy with toilet paper money and bitcoin, one stable datum stands the test of time: land increases it's value over and over again.
Wishing you and your families well.
